Another Brick in the Wall

Did anyone here congratulate BBH on cracking the 40,000 pt barrier, or are we getting blasé about this kind of thing?

Well done Matt, and keep banging away at that Chimera. In the meantime, I notice that there's still a few fighters where you haven't used the most annoyingly cheap female character to max out the score... :)

Congrats! And let's hope to see the half-a-hundred-thou soon.

I see you're still upset about Last Blade. :)

But seriously, I don't care much about the leaderboard any more... I still submit stuff because I have fun playing the games, not because I need points...

>> "not because i need the points" HAH! the sheer arrogance of that remark ... (made worse by the fact that it's true) ;) as your fellow countrymen used to say before there were any arcade games: "you got lotsa sand, pardner!"

well, reckon what i have to do is find a game where i can beat ya and steal some of them points...hmmm...let's see.....

aaaah! got it: how about one of those japanese quiz games, which i couldn't help but notice are almost exclusively played by people without any knowledge of the language whatso-§"$%ing-ever?

I hadn't noticed this, myself. Congratulations BBH.

About the Japanese quiz games, as was noted there are only a few players on MARP that actually know Japanese in any capacity. But I'm not sure what you're getting at here... If you think the scores are lame, why not beat them? It's like mahjong games for me. Most people don't know how to play them, and as such Phil Lamat has pretty much dominated them exclusively. I more or less know how to play (a few of the special rules escape me), but honestly I can't be bothered to play an 'arcade' game like that for the sake of leaderboard points, especially when they're almost all identical except for items and such which can be bought. So until someone has the time and interest, those games are his. So it is with quiz games as well.

well, what was i getting at ? i think i was just somewhat p.o.ed when i ran a playback of some quiz games recordings and noticed that the player didn'T even bother to read the questions, just hacked away at the answer keys.

>>Study Japanese. it is the EASIEST LANGUAGE of all. >>at least much easier than English, I think.(lol) i did. after 6 months i'm finally able to translate a newspaper headline in just under 10 minutes. most of the time, anyway... too slow for quiz games yet :)) WELL....doesn't anybody here agree that this style of gameplay should be banned ??!?? "i'll just start the game over and over until i get lucky"....duh....
