I was travelling down the highway and the motor suddenly stopped. I tried to bump start while coasting, but it didn't work. The starter works but theres no ignition. Could be a fuel line problem. Any helpful advise?

Update
They found a loose fuel hose from the fuel pump in the tank. Apparently they used the wrong hose clamp. An isolated incident.

How fast were you going? What gear? How many miles do you have on your bike? Did you have the full 600 mile service completed (valves checked, spark plugs replaced?) I had a stalling problem, which was accompanied by a misfire and backfiring in the pipes, however the bike would only stall in the lower gears (1st and 2nd) when the bike was coming to a stop. The dealer has tried numerous adjustments, but due to the lack of proper equipment available to measure the gas emissions, everything was done by "ear". The problem was diminished, but never totally erradicated. Now the bike is at the dealer and several modifications are being made to it. Obviously it seems like this is becoming a more common occurence as more people get miles in their bikes. I currently have approximately 5300 miles on my bike. I am confident that it will all be resolved very soon.

It sounds like what happened to my bike. The computer is dead and will not allow the bike to start. I have had my computer replaced twice now. Lets hope this time it keeps working. With mine, when I turned the key the cooling fan would come on, even though the engine was cold. The starter motor would turn but no ignition, and it could not be bump started. If your is doing the same thing, have your dealer pick it up and replace the computer, or better yet have them ship you a new one and install it yourself. If your dealer gets it, tell them to swap computers with another bike, It will fire right up. They need to look for a loose connection that causes the computer to ground out. Good luck Jason
