Hoot, we did this one here back when it all happened...? I don't mind answering again, but find it a bit odd ()

Saved in 1989, although I seem to be a bit of a slow learner, by the grace of God Almighty alone, Christ paid the debt I should have paid.

When the roll is called up Yonder, I'll be there because I too have trusted in Christ as my Lord and Savior and I'm not ashamed to say so. Hoot, you've been a believer longer than me, but then I'll bet you're older too. I was born 1959 and asked Jesus into my heart at age 8. It's been a bumpy road, but every step takes me closer to my Lord. Sometimes I walk, sometimes I run, sometimes I just crawl, and sometimes He has to carry me, but I'm always moving the right direction because He is always leading me there and has promised to never leave me nor for forsake me. Ain't it great that He never breaks His promises?

Hoot,

I asked Jesus into my heart when I was twelve years old - He's been my personal Lord and Savior for 32 years now!!

Hoot, I have known my Lord since I was 12 years old. But, I have only known my Saviour and my friend personally since 1994! Hallelujah! In His Grace, Sissy

Howdy hoot! It has been almost 11 years now.....At home, kneeling on my living room floor, the bible laid in front of me. Open. Not yet even to the New Testament, having spent weeks waking as early as 4:00 in the morn, just so I could read His Word before going to work. Then during lunches, then rushing home to read some more! Started at the beginning..Genisis. Can't remember what chapter I was on when I made the decision.....do remember being amazed about the "rainbow" and God's promise. Like a child! Praise God, from that moment on...a child of God! And yes, the New Testament was as astonishing as the old! Thanks for asking! God Bless!

I gave my heart to Jesus in 1956 as a young teenager. Yep, I'm getting old. Haven't always been the best christian but He is always there to help me back up again and without Him, I don't know how I would have made it this long. Jesus is my best friend! Our pastor always says there are two kinds of sinners - saved sinners and lost sinners. Thank you Jesus for paying my debt so I can call myself a saved sinner.

Hoot, I was one of the first to answer this at CS before we got kicked off and this repost made me realize that I don't know if I answered it here. The answer never changes, thank God! Christ has been my Lord and Savior for the last 35 years and has brought me through events I could not have made it through without Him. Don't know how people make it without the peace that only He can give. Thanks for asking again.

Although I pretended to be a Christian for many years, I wasn't saved til about 10 years ago. I'm so glad I'm on this side of all that- searching, running and all that other stuff. Someone told me once that God doesn't take care of you if you're not saved. WRONG!!!!! I was in situations that, well it's a miracle I survived.

God wants somebody to read this book: "If I Really Believe, Why Do I have These Doubts?" by Dr. Lynn Anderson. You're not alone. By page 23 I was over my problem, not over the sometimes doubt, but over the guilt about the doubt.

My name is written in the Lamb's book since October 1999! My daughter and I were baptised Dec 26,1999. It sure does look like I'll be in good company in heaven :o)). Some of ya'll may or may not know(hoot does) that the post on countryside that Hoot is referring to was the last straw for me. I no longer post on countryside at all. Ken and I had quite an interesting little email swap going on for about a week. Hehe...send me all the mail you want brother Hoot :o).

I have loved Jesus since I was a child but unfortunately didn't have the assurance of salvation till a few years back. In the meantime, I strayed away but He has loved me back into his fold. Lately He's been changing my life in leaps and bounds, kinda scary but exciting too. There is no greater comfort than knowing how much He loves us! How awesome He is! Praise the name of Jesus!

Hoot, you're making me expand my horizons. I had to come looking for you after the whole cs hoopla. I really enjoy your posts! I haven't wandered very far in this cyberspace, but I guess I'm trainable!

Thirty years ago, age 35, the last of the Gibson clan to claim Heaven as Home. I was married, attending church because it was the socially acceptable thing to do. (not the same church the rest of the Gibsons attended) Didn't smoke, drink, cuss, cheat on husband or kick the cat, but finally realized I was just as lost as the meanest sinner. Was saved in Methodist church, have been living for Jesus ever since, but not recently Methodist, is that makes any difference. I think when we get to Glory, there will be an angel standing at the gate with a pair of scissors to clip the denomination tag off us!

If I refuse to take part in roll calls like this, am I denying the Lord? I dont think so. I think this type of roll call serves no good purpose, except to make some non-christians feel excluded and therefore peeved. And makes some christians feel exclusive, and therefore clannish. This is the type of self-rightous spirit that fills churches on sunday mornings and keeps nonchristians from being won to Jesus during the week. No, I wont raise my hand and wave it in the air just because another christian tells me I have to. If Jesus didnt tell me to do it, it isnt denying His Lordship to refuse.

Hey Daff! Seems we've "locked horns" before over what I believe and proclaim. I won't argue with you over the Word but will continue to witness just as He asks of me. I'm sorry that you think I'm "self righous" and am turning lost sinners away as well as being clanish. I will claim Christ as I see fit and if it bothers you then don't respond to my posts. I'm secure in my Salvation and will continue to do as He asks even if others don't agree with me or approve of what the Word says. No arguements will ensue from me over your [or anybody elses] beliefs. Ole hoot. Matt.24:44
