Off Season Notes

The Viking camp has been rumbling just a bit and it is mostly due to the fact that contract negotiations with Moss are not happening. It seems that both sides have resigned to the fact that nothing will be done until the season is over. What that means for Viking fans is that Moss will be showcasing his abilities for the entire league next season.

Moss will surely be out to prove that he is worth the $100 million that he is looking for. Moss has quit his basketball "career" and seems to be concentrating on the upcoming season. I hope we can get him signed but it will take a huge amount of cash to get it done. I also feel sorry for the rest of the league this season especially the NFC Central. Moss suddenly has a reason to play hard and no one has any idea what he is actually capable of. We have all seen Moss take plays off and get bored during games. Can you imagine how devastating a determined and motivated Moss can be? We could see 2,000 yards easy this season from the Mighty Moss.

In other Viking news the team has agreed to a three-year deal with fifth round draft pick Patrick Chukwurah out of Wyoming.

Just a quick thought for your pondering pleasure: Can Bennett replace Smith and be an explosive part of our offense? Bennett obviously has the speed out of the backfield but can he catch the ball and learn the offense well enough to be a valuable asset to the team in his rookie season? Does he have the ability to stay in and pick up a blitzing linebacker or take a screen pass and turn it into huge gains like Smith could?

See you next week for more Viking news.
