Hi folks,

I am getting a Vivitar 100mm macro for EOS mount. I have heard reports that it is flimsy but haven't heard anybody's lens broken yet! Also any suggestions where I can get thsi cheap? People mention $119 but cheapest I found is $149. Finally, I heard somebody suggested the manual focus version of this over the AF. Any thoughts on this? thanks.

I had one. Nice flimsy lens. Takes good pictures. It is exactly the same as the Phoenix and Cosina versions, so get whichever is cheaper. None of the manual focus versions will fit the EOS, so that's out.

They come up used on online auctions all the time. Usually for under $100. Buy from someone with lots of good positive feedback.
