What to do with my polaroid film?

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Large format photography : One Thread

I ran into a deal on some cases of Type 59 polaroid film. It is outdated, but works ok. 10 cases for $30 :)

Can anything be done with the negative from this film? Or do I just shot the picture, check the exposure and toss it in the trash?

thanks

Well, you can do transfers with type 59...

Yes, go to the polaroid site and see how easy it is done (Polaroid Transfers). Use one to test your set with and do another one but DO NOT process it until your ready to make the transfer.

They make excellent coasters, emulsion side up. Use them that way, make sure to spill lots of beer on them before you transfer the emulsion, and they'll match the technical and aesthetic quality of most emulsion transfers I've seen.

I rate the beer response on the same level as "develope it between your butt crack"

I never said I liked the polaroid.. I use it to see if I have the correct exposure...

Correct exposure for what? The response of the type 59 limits what film type you can check it with. james
