Diafine and HP5

What a great combination! Following up on the questions below I tried some HP5 rated at 800 in Diafine. I'm looking at some prints right now and I'm amazed at how nice they turned out. The grain is no more or less than I would have expected with a mid-speed film but it's super sharp, the tones are nice and where I want them and the highlights are perfect.

Next project is to try some Tri-X at 1600.

Yes, I recommend Diafine!

I've used it for years and love it myself! If you know TX, you'll be pretty happy with it too! If you don't need the speed increase (I shoot my TXP 4x5 at 400 and use Diafine), try some Divided D76. Just as easy, about the same ultra-fine grain but not as high on the acutance. GREAT stuff also!!!

It's great! I often wonder why more people don't use it. It's all I use now. Simple, idiot proof and wonderful results. I've tried a lot of developers over the years and after I started using Diafine, I tossed out all of my Microdol, Rodinal, TEC, T-Max, Technidol and D-76. I even use it for Tech Pan.
