Haemorrhoids-sufferer uses tooth brush for relief, gets it stuck

A pensioner had to have a toothbrush surgically removed from his backside after he used it to scratch his haemorrhoids.

The unnamed 69-year-old was ordered into hospital by his GP where an X-ray revealed it was deep inside near his pelvis.

Doctors removed it with using forceps but say it is the first recorded case of a toothbrush having to be removed from a rectum.

However the British Dental Journal reports doctors have recovered toothbrush holders, toothbrush packages and toothpicks in the past.

The British Dental Association's Dr Jacinta Yeo told Ananova: "This is a surprising use for a toothbrush and we would recommend that people use toothbrushes in the way they are intended."

This "story" is not true. Obviously, Lars peruses ananova.com, a British web site that posts news-of-the-weird as found in British tabloids (the world's worst).

Our tooth brushes make fine hemorrhoid scratchers. Be sure to use soft bristle.

If I may change the subject ever so slightly, how far back do you folks brush your tongue? I visited the Dentist recently and he told me that my tongue was getting white because I didn't brush it. True story. I've been trying harder lately to brush my tongue, but Deep Throat I'm definitely NOT. My gag reflex seems to activate before I get the brush halfway back on my tongue.

The stick from an ice cream bar makes a great tongue scraper.

Thanks for those links. I'd not even considered the "bad breath" aspect in an unclean tongue.

Many years ago, I used a teaspoon to scrape my tongue. It has the appropriate curvature [compatible with the palate]. I tried it again, and I was able to scrape my tongue almost as far back as my taste-buds. I'm sure I'll be able to extend this venture with daily use. Thanks again. As the links you provided pointed out, toothbrushes should be used in the way they are intended.
