information on the 1950's underwater tunnel in the bay at San Francisco

Back in the 1950's there was an underwater tunnel in the bay in San Francisco. I would like information on it please.

I think you're referring to the Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART) tube that runs across the bottom of SF Bay. Planning for the tube began in the 1950s but construction didn't begin for a decade. For more information on its design and construction, I'd contact BART directly.
