Film Developers

greenspun.com : LUSENET : B&W Photo - Film & Processing : One Thread

I am familiar with the standard film developers such as HC110, D76, Ilford's developer, Microdol X, etc. I am interested in learning about some of the more "exotic" film developers such as pyro. What are some of these developers and what results can be expected that are beyond that which the standard developers provide?

Thanks, Ricardo

If you scroll down to the end of these questions and look under "Developers," you'll find a ton of answers to your question.

You need a copy of Anchell's Film Developing Handbook.

I agree with Bill. Learn about photo chemistry before mixing your own. It's very interesting!

It's very interesting, but just like an easiest way to waste lots of time once you start thinking about what's the best developer... there's no such thing as the best, although there are several worst developers... (depending on what you want)
