Middle East posts

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Grassroots Information Coordination Center (GICC) : One Thread

There seems to be a major confrontation taking place in Iraq-Turkey and Iran. Is there any interest in articles on this situation? If not I won't waste time posting them. I guess I am getting to the point that I do not know where this forum is going. All these stories seem important to me but maybe not to anyone else. What do you think?

Martin, I think you should continue to post whatever stories you wish to. While not every story will interest everyone, as long as it is labeled as clearly as possible, people always have the right to skip anything they want as they're reading the thread headings.

I personally find mid-East stories every bit as interesting as are those from any other part of the world.

I've found myself a bit intimidated lately by the all the California stories, but I recognize their importance even though I skip most of those threads because I don't have the deep interest nor the time to read all of them. Not once have I thought people shouldn't be posting them, though. And I have continued to post stories from elsewhere. :)

Martin, IMHO, this forum is the most useful source available online for information concerning breaking events and issues here in the west and northwest, especially energy and water issues.

I spend at least fifteen minutes here every day, and I find your posts on other topics very useful as well.

Where we here in the west and northwest are now going in dealing with energy and water issues, the nation will soon be going too, it's just a matter of time. If enough people are educated as to the issues, using our experiences here as lessons learned, then perhaps they will be better prepared when these problems begin emerging in their own regional areas.

You are providing an important service. Our "mainstream" news service has been running the missing intern story all day. They do not find the topic of war in the Mid-East "sexy" enough!

Ditto on all the comments above!

Martin, You seem to have your finger on some sort of pulse of future direction. I don't know how you decide what to post but whatever you're doing, I'd appreciate it if you would continue.

You were posting California and energy stories long before the rest of the country was concerned. I can see that the Mid-east is very unstable now and we could be drawn right into the middle of it. The economy of the US is going to influence the rest of the world's economies.

All of these issues are important to me and obviously to alot of others on this list. I wouldn't even know how to find some of the info in alot of cases.

In other words, please keep doing whatever you're doing. Thanks.
