Need Instruction Booklet for Presto Canner/Cooker

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Countryside : One Thread

Does anyone have an instruction booklet for a Presto Canner/Cooker - it's a 12 quart model number 02/CAA12H. My mother-in-law bought it at an estate sale, but it unfortunately came without instructions. It's currently at our local extension center being tested, and she's anxious to use it! I've tried Presto's website, and have emailed them for info, but haven't gotten very far with them. I keep getting generic email answers, but nothing specific about where I can find the instruction manual! If someone has a book they could copy for me, we'd be happy to pay for it! Thanks!

Hi Cheryl, I have a simular model and do have the instruction book that I would be happy to copy and send to you - no charge. All Presto canners are basically the same. A new booklet runs between $6-$8 and is real thin for the money! You will also just get a kind of generic type that includes several differant Presto models and you kind of have to "guess" which is yours if you aren't familar with them. I ordered one because I lost mine....3 days after it arrived, I found mine! Ahhhhh! Just email me at db0421@yahoo.com with your mailing address and I will get it right out to you. It that does not work here are 2 sites to order parts from. You should use the first site to put in your model number and you can get your part numbers (and booklet number)and then use the 2nd site to order from. The prices are better and they arrive in less than a week and are very very helpful if you need to talk to them directly. I have practically rebuilt mine from parts from the second site. The first one is the Presto site at : http://www.presto-net.com/productinfo/service/databasestart.html and the site to order from is: https://secure.ls.net/secure/pressure/index2.htm

I got my Presto canner at a flea market for $5 sans the instruction booklet. I looked up Presto on the internet and called and ordered a booklet over the phone. It cost me $3. Good luck.
