A good article I found that talks about Denny the coach overcomming Denny the GM's mistakes. http://realteam.com/insiders/PublishedArticles/10580.jsp

Good article, yet I don't think it really gets at the root of the Denny problem. Denny is great at preparing a plan and executing it, however he is probably one of the worst ever at realizing when to shift on the fly, scrap the plan and go for the brass ring. He absolutely refuses to make in game adjustments until the game is out of hand, and he refuses to bend in his dealings with players when the time is right to roll the dice.

I thought I would repost the table from that article here.

MINNESOTA'S "DEAD MONEY," 2001 Position/Player Dead Money DL John Randle $7.5 million OT Todd Steussie $5.487 million RB Robert Smith $3.171 million QB Randall Cunningham $2.5 million DE John Burrough $1.14 million PR David Palmer $382,000 CB Cris Dishman $167,000 Others $34,000 Total $20.381 million

Just to follow that up, what if we had half of that dead money available to us this year? We could have made a killing in the Free Agent market. The $$$ that pisses me off the most is still the Cunningham deal, that was pure stupidity at its finest.
