Goat Sexuality -- the ugly truth revealed

greenspun.com : LUSENET : FRL friends : One Thread

You remember, don't you, that we bought a new buck at a sale? Robert named him "Bud off Course"?

Well, he wasn't so new. He was obviously older than a new buck. He had all of the equipment he was born with, if you know what I mean, and that equipment was meant to be used here at the farm.

We have a doe here, a young one. She has reached the age and state in her life where, delicately speaking, she would like personal attention from the buck. I'm speaking delicately, but there is nothing delicate about the way this little doe is making her desires known to the world at large.

That buck is avoiding her.

Now I know all you goat people out there are going to call me a liar or worse, because everyone knows that a buck goat is a 24/7 love machine. Human males only dream of such stamina.

I'm telling you, this buck don't wanna. He runs away from her. He climbs into an old metal washtub and curls up in fetal position and just plain ignores her. And she's really hard to ignore. This buck even closes his eyes.

I have a regular camera. I have a scanner. If some kind person would post here or email to me the instructions about how to use my camera and scanner to post a real picture of this bizarre situation, I will prove what I am saying is true.

In the meantime, stop comparing nasty old human men to goats. It isn't true. Men are worse.

Helen, maybe that poor old buck ran into a feminist type doe the last time he tried to have fun... enough to put him off his paces. Or maybe he's being faithful to his mate, wherever she may be. Or maybe.... :-)

Come on - isn't it obvious?

I'm no animule husbandry expert or anything of course (and we'll leave the nakked mule kissing aside for a bit....) but even I know that you've got the species mixed up.

Don't you remmeber that old song?

"Doe, a deer, a female deer....."

See? Is doesn't say anything about a female goat ... so you've got to teach the old goat new tricks... or old tricks. Or new treats .... or warn him that he'll be singing a new song if he doesn't start trying new treats for his old tricks.
