OR DO THEY KNOW A BETTER WAY.

I HAVE A 933 PENTIUM3 WITH LOADS OF HD AND RAM

Or for a fun project, you can get a Dazzle DVC II capture card for your computer. You can connect your VCR to this card, play the VCR and capture the video/audio in the computer in VCD format (MPEG-1 or even better in MPEG-2), then you burn the MPEG file on the CD-R or CD r/w media with a CD-recorder.
