Did you ever get the gel seat pad ? I checked out the Planetary Gear web site, but was not clear if these pads would work on a sliding seat. Jim

I checked out the website and ordered the Canoe Captain FOAM seat. It comes with straps and buckles that attach around your fixed seat.

I go out for 4-5 hrs and this seat made a huge difference. The nylon cover allows you to slide a little, and the split cushion leaves space for your tail bone. I use to get blisters when I stayed out too long, this year I haven't had any problems.

The Gel seat pad is awesome for sliding seat. I mentioned them to Adirondack Rowing and Karen says that they now stock them and she won't go out on the water without hers. There are two velcro strips that allow you to place the pad so that it doesnt move. The gel does seem to migrate after a session and what i do is take a rolling pin and roll it flat before each time out.

can I ask if I can take this gel seat to the gym and such or do I have to stick it on with velcro? if I don't stick it on is it going to slide around a lot. If so I guess I will have to go with a traditional foam seat cussion . any suggestions?
