More about building a body of knowledge

greenspun.com : LUSENET : AMTNSW : One Thread

I thought I'd revive Diana's suggestion of a while back, of building a body of knowledge. She gave the details of a good book in her post, and then Mark Deal listed another one in the same thread, which someone else found useful.

My suggestion - now that I've sorted the threads into categories, how about posting under the category 'Body of Knowledge/Recommended texts', with a different thread/'question' for each recommended text, article of whatever. So the Subject Line would be the name of the book. Then subsequent posts about that book could be in that thread, but other books could be in their own threads so they're easy to find.

Who wants to start?

Good questions.

A post is what I am doing right now. When you 'post' a single question, or a response to one, that is a post. This is the third post in this 'thread'.

A thread is a series of posts following one another with the same subject line. An original question is asked, or comment made, by clicking on the link 'Ask a Question' at the top of the page. Responses are then posted to that question. The question and all the responses form a single thread, and are viewed together.
