caretaker wanted (in Inland Washington State)

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Countryside : One Thread

I have a friend who is searching for a caretaker, someone to live on her land and help out with chores in exchange for a place to live and shelter. She is a soon-to-be mom, single, and prefers a female caretaker, but that may not be an absolute. She lives in the Inland Northwest, Eastern Washington state. Replies can be sent to me and I will forward them, as she is off the grid right now and has no computer. But she is a Countryside subscriber! This could be a great opportunity for someone getting started or in need of housing and room for animals or garden, or wanting to spend time in this area before buying. Thanks!

Response to caretaker wanted

She was hoping to find someone sooner than would be possible through the gazette. She missed the last deadline for that, and the next one would have it in print a ways off. So she figured this was a faster way to get in touch with more likeminded people. Hopefully this summer!

Is she looking for someone to help with the land, garden, etc. or for household domestic and childcare. What type of accomodations would be available to the would be incumbent.

Where in the Inland Empire would that be, exactly? Thx.

Oops, I wrote back directly to Auntie Annie. Well, basically I said she is looking for help with the goats, chickens, garden, etc. I think she is thinking along the lines of 2 hours a day to cover shelter. The shelter is a 5th wheel that she has been living in, but is now finishing up thehouse she started building last summer. As for where in the Inland northwest, it is in (or next to, not sure of boundrys) the Colville National Forest, about 2 1/2 hours north of Spokane, in Steven's County and not far from the county seat.
