Seeing as it is now public knowledge that Peter Chung has moved on to a new, independent project called "Career Suicide", we all have some time to blatantly speculate on what it may be or - as I would like to read - post our own thought and wishes of where he could be going with this.

He has said that it isn't aimed specifically at adults (as some may say Aeon was with it's sexually graphic nature) but will still be universally interesting... which brings to my mind his post when he first got on the board about how he could tell the same stories through any setting, even a poor potato farmer - just nobody would watch it.

Anyhow, on with the speculating/wishing.

I would like to see a Peter Chung version of the real world, as we see it today. With a name like "career suicide" it seems like this is very possible - that it will be set in the present on Earth. It always seemed to me that his over-the-top anatomical structuring of Aeon Flux's characters (if that makes sense) was so perfectly appropriate for the science fiction setting. The limber, stretched out, almost rigid characters just fit in well. It is hard to imagine the same character style wearing a suit and tie or normal "street" clothes. I think this would be quite a thrill to see. How would Chung portray modern America, which is essentially... us. Seeing myself - well, people like myself - animated in Peter Chung's style would be great. I think I would find myself waiting for the characters to break into insane acrobatics at any point, ripping away their "normal" clothes to reveal leather bikinis and such.

Anyone else's input on this thread would be great, and muchly appreciated by myself =)

"Career Suicide" should be about people who make a career out of suicide. Futuristic con artists faking their death in a variety of spectacular ways, then assuming false identities & living off the insurance. Until that runs out, & they have to kill themselves again... Aeon Flux meets Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, meets Seconds, it'd be great!

But I think the name was a joke on Chung's part...

I realize that he could be just saying this series is how he plans to ruin his name as an animator - a pessimistic jab at himself... but I feel like it could be a great name to run a show off of. Today's society is all about preparing people for the job world from childhood - aging children at spectacular rates, skipping straight to adulthood. Maybe that angle at the term "career suicide?"

It's apparent that anything with the word "suicide" in the title wouldn't be marketable to American children, but Asian cultures are much more open minded. Also, maybe he's going a law-enforcement route... what career is more "suicidal" then a career of crime, eh?

I'd like to see him do anything but a view on the real world we live in. With all the freaking reality tv shows and game shows, I just pray for a repreive. Stick with what you excel at, I always say.
