Racasetti?

Has anyone ever heard of an artist by the name of 'Rocasetti'? I recently purchased a heavy-acrylic painting by this artist, but am unable to track-down any information. Any leads would be greatly appreciated!

I have a Racasetti as well. It sounds like the same one the other respondent has--ships in a seaport. It was $12 at the local Goodwill store (Springfield, IL) and was in a brown frame with a green velvet matte, which I removed to reframe the piece. I was curious as to the artist myself and real worth of the painting.

My mother also has one in Virginia. She has asked me the same question. Her's is of ships in a seaport. I would alos like to be able to tell her something about this artist.

My mom juts called asking me research a Racasetti picture of ships in a harbor. It was $50 at a resale shop. Sounds like there are quite few of these out there.

I also have a picture of ships in a port with buildings in the background it is baby blue in color, with a white and baby blue frame.

ditto Mine is also in a gold frame with green velvet trim, but on the back of mine, there is a label from Academy Arts ~ 1840 N. Clybourn Avenue ~ Chicago, IL 60614. The name of the painting is "Boats in Port". The style number is 6417B. By the way, I only paid $5.00 for mine at an estate sale....he he he.

I also found a racasetti 5 bucks at a garage sale. Sailing ships, etc. On the back BASSONS Perth Amboy NJ Style V974.

I am also a proud owner of one of these prints, I am from South Africa, and what really amazes me of mine, is that it cost R278.00 (20 USD) to reframe in 1978, as the receipt is still attatched. What I would like to know, is can anybody tell me about the artist? I paid R50.00, which in todays terms is equal to USD 3.96.at a second hand store. Also powder blue in a gold frame, ships in dock. I love it, and looks beautifull in my office, and is often a topic of discussion.

i have a racasetti painting but can't find any info either.... mine has a paddle boat in the front left corner with a yacht in the middle of the painting behind it. there is also a sail boat in the far left and it looks like it is docked at a ???city????? atleast there is big tall white building in the back ground. there is also one big yachet ??docked?? in the middle of the painting. on the right front corner there is a group of four yachets you can hardly see two of them they are so intwined. the frame is wooden about five inches thick (big painting takes up most of wall) with corner decor screwed in each corner.it even looks like it has the original backing to it. there are a couple of black stamps and a red tag on the backing. can anyone ease my mind and tell me who this person is?? i don't even know the first name....

I have a Racasetti print of ships in a harbor w/white building close together in the background. Very pretty. Don't have any idea about the artist either.

Does anybody?

I have a Racasetti painting as well, it seems to be the exact one "luvintommy@html.com" wrote about- except mine maybe a little smaller- doesn't take up my entire wall. I received mine after my great grandfather passed away in 2000- it hung in his house for as long as i can remember.. My grandmother can't remember how long he had it or where he purchased it, but i'd love to know about the painting and the artist. Thank you!

Hello- I came across this website when I was trying to find out some info on a painting I received. Mine is not a Racasetti. Without taking the frame apart I believe the initials on the bottom are bt or bb?? The subject of the painting is Don Quixote. An 8X10 color canvas. The back also has a blue label from the Academy Arts 1840 N Clybourn Avenue Chicago, Ill. Any info??

My mother purchased a Racasetti of Sailing Ships at a flea market, she paid $1.50 for it. The people selling it advised they were selling things of their grandmother who had passed away. It is of several ships sailing. the pattern is #335. I am also looking for information about the artist for her. It is a beautiful painting.
