Amish Table Lamp

Has anyone used the Amish Table Lamp that burns Coleman fuel? It is in the Lehman's catalog. If you have used the lamp, what did you think of it? Any problems using it indoors?

Yes we have two Amish table lamps. They are very nice and produce a nice light. When you get used to them it is easy to read, play games,or function normally. They do produce some fumes and have a few drawbacks. They must be pumped up occasionally and the mantles are fragile. Night bugs are a mantles' death. We do not use them outdoors but use a regular Coleman 2 mantle lantern. The generators don't leak as long as you tighten them regularly. Ours hang from the ceiling and require a heat shield/reflector. This creates a head banging opportunity if your ceilings are as low as ours. It is also not a good idea to leave them unattended as they can be a fire hazard. Hope this has been of some help. Any more questions, e-mail us and we'll try to help.

Laycock lamps! They are actually an old Coleman design. They are made by an amish firm near Lancaster Pa.(Ronks)They bought the tooling and manufacturing rights from colemans.I think they are on the net. They have Mennonites do the Pc work.Try Lacock lighting center or laycock coleman center in your search engine. To answer your question yes they work (the same as a double mantal coleman lantern)You need a special pump. one will work for all your lamps. The draw back is that they have no globe so it is easy for insects to break your mantals.they also hiss just like any other pressure lamp.If you want bright light without out the hiss, mantal breakage, and potentially explosive napthalene(coleman fuel)try an alladin. They are about the same price as a laycock lamp and you can get parts a little bit more easily.
