Renewable Energy Fair This Weekend

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Countryside : One Thread

I apologize if I missed another announcement of this recently.

The Midwest Renewable Energy Association [www.the-mrea.org] puts on an Energy Fair every June around the solstice. Held in Amherst, Wisconsin, Friday - Sunday, June 22-24 this year [2001].

Lots of good workshops and vendors and good food. Held on the county fair grounds, rain or shine, so dress appropriately. If it's raining, it will be a little muddy in places.

We're going to be there tomorrow! Look for a lady using a turquoise electric cart! We will be certain to stop at Countryside tent and say hello. A few years ago, we were lucky enough to meet "the old guy" and have him autograph our copy of "A Place Called Attar". Am looking forward to seeing everyone and the weather looks to be wonderful! God bless!

Why can't somebody throw one of these things on this side of the country? Also I keep hearing about a book name Aplace called Attar; can someone tell me whats its about?

Don't remember where you are, Mitch. But here is a URL to a place to locate energy fairs around the country: http://energy.sourceguides.com/businesses/byGeo/US/byB/org/byS/byS.sht ml

For some reason, I'm thinking you're in California. Real Goods always has a big whoop-de-do called SolFest. I thought it was over the Solstice, but it appears it's in August this year. They're at Hopland, which is near Ukiah, I guess.

It's on the MREA site (see my original post). $8 per day/$20 for the weekend, free if you're a member.
