when i clean dirty wool from sheep, i am always dismayed by the fact that all the lovely lanolin is going down the drain. is there anyway to extract this from the water and clean it to use?

do know if this works,, but you could rinse the wool in acohol,, then after that evaperates,, you would have the lanolin (maybe).

I have heard if you use just very hot water and soak the wool for the required amount of time, then remove it from the water and let the water cool, you can skim the lanolin. Don't know if it works, though.
