My husband has had a left hip replaced, a left knee replaced and a procudure on his right leg where a wedge of bone was removed so that his knee was angled differently to make use of remaining cartilage.

Now his right hip is very sore and he is on a 6 day dose of steroids.

Is there any new procedures for replacement of hips? Someone mentioned an arthroscopic way of doing hips. I can't imagine that it could be done this way, but if it can, the healing time certainly would be much less. He is 59 years old. Any info would be appreciated. ML

Total hip replacement cannot be done arthroscopically. There are many inovations in hip surgery. We will be adding to the web site and let you know when it is up.
