homemade COLLOIDAL SILVER generator

Disclaimer: Ive never tried this. I dont use colloidal silver. Im not suggesting you should make it or use it. I ran acrossed this procedure and thought I remembered someone asking about it. This is posted for informational purposes only.

HOW TO MAKE COLLODIAL SILVER:

You will need: (Note: be sure to use only distilled water and only pure silver. Any other form of water or silver could be toxic!) Radio Shack - 3 nine-volt batteries Three battery snap-on connectors for 9 volt (medium to large size) Small copper alligator clips

Grocery store: 1 gal. distilled (NOT just filtered) water

Health food or grocery store: 1/4 cup sea salt or pure salt

Jewelry store or precious metals store: Ten inches of 14 gauge silver (.999 or .9999 pure) - NOT sterling silver or anything less than .999 pure! A source is Thunderbird Supply - Gallup, NM 1-800-545-7968 or 884-7770 if in Albuquerque. Plastic spoon or stir stick, measuring cup, tsp. measure, clear 8 oz glass tumbler

Directions:

Make a saline solution, using 6 oz. of distilled water and 1 tsp. of salt. Mix with plastic spoon or stick (Do not use any form of metal to stir with).

Pour 8 oz of distilled water into a clean, clear glass. Put 1-2 drops of saline solution into this glass and stir thoroughly with a plastic item. Take the 10 in of silver wire and cut in half. Make each half look like a shepherd's hook. (Upside down J) Put the long parts into the 8oz. glass, leaving the "hook" outside. Be careful the silver wires do not touch each other at anytime.

Next, take the wires of the battery snap-on connectors and strip them down to 1/2 inch (or have Radio Shack do this). Twist the three bare wires from the black strands together and then insert these bare wires into the small hole on one of the alligator clips, turning them so they will stay there. (Or you could put a drop of sauter on top to hold them securely) Do the same with the red wires.

Now, first connect the alligator clip with the black wires onto one of the silver hooks and then connect the alligator clip of the red wires onto the other silver hook. After a minute or two passes, look for some small wisps of "smoke" to be coming off of one of the silver wires. That tells you this is working. Leave the batteries hooked up for one hour. When done, disconnect the alligator clips from the silver wires and also the snap on connectors from the batteries. Clean the silver wires after each use to remove the dark oxide on the anode. Use a small piece of 1/4" thick nylon kitchen scouring pad to polish the dried silver, then wipe with paper napkin to make ready for next use.

Also, put a few drops of Silver Colloid in the saline solution to prevent fungus growth. Store your Colloidal Silver in dark, non-conductive (and if plastic, non-reactive) containers, like empty hydrogen peroxide bottles. Keep away from light as even room light will degrade colloids rapidly Stir thoroughly or shake each time before using. Keep cool, but do not refrigerate.

In using your own home-made silver colloid generator it will become apparent that you now have the power to safely protect yourself and your family from over 650 pathogens, viruses, microbes, fungi and parasites. Upon creating your first batch of Colloidal Silver, you will find it tastes the same as untreated water. And it won't sting, even in a baby's eyes.

Since you are only taking microscopic particles from the silver wire, your silver wire may very well last for years. A fresh set of three alkaline batteries should make several hundred thousand batches of concentrated Silver Colloid.

FWIW, Ive seen the folowing claims made also...

One easy way to get silver in your diet is to drink tea or coffee from a pure silver mug, or cup.

Varakh, edible silver foil used as decoration for sweets, is available in most any Indian grocery store.

Be aware that internally taken silver tends to collect in the skin and darken under exposure to light, a condition known as "argyria."

It is impossible to tell specifically what "too much" is for any given individual because sensitivity varies widely but caution must be used as "too much" will cause toxicity and complications.

Hello: It was interesting reading your article on colloidal silver. My wife and I came across colloidal silver about six years ago. To date neither one of us have caught a cold or flu.

I disagree about the toxcity. We drink 12-14 ounces of approx 20 ppm every sunday.

In response to the answer about doubts to it being toxic only because they are taking in a good dose of it regularly, it would seem that each person has a different tolerance and assuming that something isn't toxic or isn't capable of toxic buildup only because one has been taking it for extended periods of time is kind of lacking in common sense.

Most heavy metals(silver and gold are included) tend to build up in the human body. In some cases, it results in neurological damage(lead). In other cases, it results in internal organ failure or bloodwork breakdown(cadmium, mercury). I can understand some people thinking that relatively inert metals like Gold are safe to consume. But silver?

Silver isn't something that microbes can grow on, but it doesn't mean that silver itself will stop microbial growth when it is inside the human body. Think about it:

If you were to expose a petri dish worth of germs to a spray of a strong colloidal solution of silver, the germs would be slowed or stopped. But think about the relative concentration of that solution in respect to the amount you are taking into your body in relation to the amount of germs inside of your body.

It's like any other disinfectant. If sufficiently dilluted, there will be no realizable or tangible results short of those resulting from the Placebo Effect. To claim that a solution of about what? 8oz or less of a 20ppm solution of colloidal silver when taken internally, and is dispersed within the body will have a sizable effect because each ion grouping is out viciously wiping out germs is just plain silly.

Modern medicine works within the ranges that it does because of tested amounts and quantitites to determine what works for whom and what doesn't.

No one knows how much colloidal silver is enough, how much isn't enough, and how much is too much.

It makes about as much sense as people eating oddly found fungus in the attic because they think it will cure them of aids or some other life-threatening terminal disease. Hope is one thing. Blind hope and utter ignorance and stupidity at work is another.

I have to wonder, do people who take colloidal silver even research the material before taking it? Or do they just go "Oh wow! Someone said it should work, so let's try it out!".

Then they wonder a few years down the line: Where the hell was the government to protect us from these false claims? Now that we're afflicted, we want repayment. (Never mind that warnings have been issued time and again.)

(Sorry, for some reason, when observing quackery at work, I feel compelled to rant.)

In response to the Anonymous article.

What makes you such an expert? Or do you profit from the mainstream drugs? Money is the main reason behind everything in this world. Why does it cost to do research to find a cure for anything? That should be something that is done for the better of humanity, NOT for a six figure income and a house in the Hamptons. If you are going to be a naysayer, prove your point with your own research. If you don't, you come across as being arrogant and sarcastic. I don't blame you for being anonymous, with that attitude. As for the silver issue, I think that there was a reason why kings and queens used to use silver to eat with and to drink out of. Be cautious and experiment.

Dear Anonymous,

I am deeply touched by your devotion to "modern medicine." It is difficult indeed in this cynical day and age to find a person who has the courage to speak up for the unfairly maligned institutions of our culture. You obviously care deeply about the health and well-being of the citizens of this country, and are trying desperately to gently steer those of us who may occassionally stray from what we know to be 'true science.' Forgive us, for we know not what we do.

Your courage is all the more impressive when one considers that the remedies fully approved and promoted by our learned men and women of medical science wind up killing over a hundred thousand of us every year! (we needn't discuss the additional tens of thousands of patients who die via medications by presciption MISTAKES. Heck, we know everyone makes mistakes. Doctors and pharmacists are only human after all!)

I for one want to thank you for your kind consideration for our well being, and for reminding us just how thankful we should remember to be that our government is always there, ready and willing to protect us from our own arrogance. I have printed out and hung up your articulate essay in my bathroom, should I ever once again be tempted to question the wisdom of my authority figures.

-- Earthmama (earthmama48@yahoo.com), July 09, 2002.

Dear Anonymous,

Just how much research have you done to be so cynical, or should I say scared? You obviously want/need some websites on a plate: just one I offer: www.rtvc-2000.com. Might be a good starting point. Unless you are paid by the pharmaceutical industry and thus have something to lose, write in again with some of your findings. Better still, try it on one or another ailment, and then give an opinion. How many women tried HRT again? was supposed to be safe as it was passed by all these highly paid academics and boards and whatever else.Pity than quite a few can't tell the story for themselves anymore.

Greetings Hanneke

You know Anonymous, modern medicine is not all that great, if you see all the so called drugs of wonder and the side affects that these chemicals will cause it is amazing that they are used and are prescribed. These "drugs/medicines" are pushed upon the populace by your government brokers of "proper" medicine, i.e. the "proper authority (yeah right) who are in the hip pocket of the pharmecutical companies, who care only for the dollar and not on the cure. Though some of these "medicines" are good, some are not so that is found years later that has caused more harm than good in the long run. Silver when properly made with the purest of water (Please don't use the salt) and pureest of silver will made a colloid that will do as specified. Colloidial minerals have been used for centuries, it is the minerals in glacier run-off water and such. Just becaue it doesn't come from a factory or a laboratory doesn't mean that it is safe nor good for you; science doesn't always have all of the answers.

I want a six figure income and a hosue in the Hamptons. One with a lots of windows and a big yard........ Some bacteria is benificial and needed in the proper asimulation ( Digestion ) of food. Although colloidal silver could have great medicinal properties. It might have long term negative affects to use something medicinal when your not ill. Espeacially if it kills the benifcial bacteria . I would like to eat my food with silver utensils , I don't like the metalic taste that inferior spoons and folks leave on the food.

Steve wrote: "I want a six figure income and a hosue in the Hamptons" Get a job.

William wrote: "Be aware that internally taken silver tends to collect in the skin and darken under exposure to light, a condition known as "argyria." This is true if the colloidial silver has inourutues, use of undistilled water can cause the process to form a cooloid od silver nitrate ect. which would be harmful to you. Use the best ingredients and you should have the best product.

But I do know if the FDA doesn't approve it must be bad. So I guess ritalin and such is "good" for you. How about aspartame that is known to turn into an alcohol when mixed with your gastrical acids, and can cause all sorts of problems. How many wonder drugs products out there can cause harm if used in large quantities?

Yeah sometimes the alternative stuff is a bit obscure, but then so was foxglove, i.e. digitalus. (How many women where burnt at the stake for knowledge of herbs and such? How many "savages" where likewise to make way for the "progressed", who have done nothing but destroy the planet in the pursuit of the ALMIGHTY dollar?)

FDA = follow the money.

Most approvals goes where the money flows.

Jonathan , I have a job.But it doesn't pay six figures . I was thinking of the healing properties a six figure salary and a home in the hamptoms could have .I bet it could cure alot of my ills.

-- SM Steve (Unreal@home.com), August 18, 2002.

Steve, All too true, since I am not familiar with the Hamptons I will have to think that it is kin to Beverly Hills, yes? Personally I would rather like a 6 figure income and a spread without the need to "look" a part. Yes it could heal a lot of woes. I figured that you had a job and was making a remark of some fashion. I thought I should return the remark, LOL. oh well. Besides, the way of alternative medicine is fraught with the good and the bad, like "modern medicine. Who knows what is until one tries it for oneself. Silver has been documented by various personages and well, they like it, use it and are blessed by it. Besides the long term side effexts with some of the rhumetoid arthritis drugs is appalling. Still, to each his/her own as they saying goes.

-- jonathan (jonathan_sz@yahoo.com), August 18, 2002.

It's not just looking the part ,It's getting the experience of living in a neighborhood where people aren't always shooting each others dogs. I want to experience the civlization of man and a quality existence . I'm pretty sure it's the part of Long Island N.Y. where John Lennon had his white house with the white piano and almost no furniture . I've drove near the area 20 years ago ,it's near the ocean , it's nicer than Beverly Hills .And I'd think it takes a 7 figure income to live in the Hamptoms now.....Some people dream of getting a post office job one day . If I'm gonna dream I go all the way.

I have been making Yellow Colloidal Silver for 10 years now. Please DO NOT use sea salt making yellow colloidal silver you will be making silver chloride. Also with the electrolyte you will increase the particle size from .0001 microns without salt to .01 microns with salt. This means larger particle size and will be 100 times less effective...

I have not been able to find any known cases where someone has argeria from ionic colloidial silver and if so what were the circumstances behind it. I have consumed many bottles of it because of a health problem which antibotics would not cure. The colloidial silver did. Would be interested to know what experiences long term users have had. Thanks

-- Mark in Long Island (mark0213@aol.com), January 08, 2003.

I've seen a case of argeria in my husbands TCM clinic. He skin colour was ashen grey. He had made his own CS in the past. We don't know if the argeria came from using too much, we presumed he made it incorrectly, probably useing inferior silver or h2o.

I have a question for those of you in the know. I just bought all the items to make my own CS. I was advised to buy 2 canadian maple leaf coins to use as the silver. They are .9999 silver, 1 oz. Apparently they will last forever as far as silver content. Have any of you used these coins? What do you think? The only other problem is they don't connect to the top of the glass with alligator clips very well. Any suggestions? Thanks for all your help. Teresa

I can only speak from my own experience. I have been drinking CS of my own make for more than six years. I started taking CS when I could not get rid of an infection that went from ear to sinus to throat and back again for more than 20 years. All the medical profession could do is give me pills that would knock it down but would never get rid of it. Occasionally it would flare up into a full blown head cold that would hang for weeks. I had a continual low grade fever for all that time. Then I heard about CS. I studied and read as much as I could find out about using silver in medicine. I found it interesting that a silver paste is used to prevent infections and speed healing in burns. A silver salve is used in newborns' eyes to eliminate possible infections that can occur after birth. There are more but suffice it to say that silver in different forms are used even by the medical profession. I started making my own when I went to a local health store and found that they were selling 8 oz at 10ppm for $49.95!!!! At the time that I started making it, sea salt was used as an electrolyte. In spite of that it still worked!! Within 30 days my infection was gone and has not returned for the last 6 years! I now use straight distilled water (no electrolyte) and I'm making it for about 22 cents a quart! I wish that I could express my relief, happiness, joy, excitement, etc.etc. that comes from being healed of something that hung on for so long! I had tried everything and nothing worked. Argyra? Yes, I've heard of it and no I've never seen it or experienced it. I heard about one woman in Canada that supposedly had it and claimed that she got it from CS. I don't see how this is possible because all the research that I have read says that CS does NOT accumulate in the body but is flushed out on a regular basis. I don't believe that there is any "toxicity" to CS, personally. I've never experinced it and I have taken what some people would call massive doses. However, please be aware there is a wide variety within the human species and there may be some that are very sensitive. It is a very rare condition and will only occur under circumstances of massive overdose. So how much is too much? I don't know. I've read of several persons who were taking 2 pts a day of 250 ppm with no adverse side effects. Don't know if this is true... just what I read. Most of what I've read says that 2 or 3 tablespoons a day of 40 to 60 ppm is sufficient. I have personally taken a full cup a day for months at a time and have noticed no changes in my system at all (ie diarhea, pale skin etc). I understand that the ppm can vary quite a bit according to the length of time and the temperature of the water. As I understand it, calculate 1ppm per minute of time at room temp. So at 65 degrees your solution should be between 40 to 60 ppm for 1 hour of time. Be aware that when you start taking it you may have a few days of the blahs as your system is getting rid of a lot of dead viruses and bacteria. I'd be happy to discuss specific questions, if anyone has any. I will only write what I myself have experienced or if I have read something I'll state that. My four boys all swear by CS, too. No, I don't feel that it is a cure for everything, but my family has experinced a severe drop in colds, flues and other normal, everyday illnesses and we have never bothered to get "innoculated" for flue. Don't bother to write if all you want to do is "badmouth" me or others that have found that the medical professions don't have the answers. Good luck.

Maybe they used to eat from silver plates, eat with silverforks, and drink with silver cups because it looks nice, isnt toxic (which is currently debatable), and its cheaper than gold. I find that your statement I think there is a rason they ate with silver utensils and whatnot to be a little quick minded. Do you think there was a reson people drank from lead cups. Its cheaper than silver, its looks nicer than alot of ther things, but it is toxic.

You are right when you say money is behind most things, which is correct, but you failed to mention that kinds and queens also ate and drank out of gold cups and used gold utensils. Perhaps it is the problem of money.

Here's a fellow with argyria, caused from taking CS:

-- Concerned Citizen (nospam@msn.com), September 03, 2003.

Wow, this silver thread won't die! (started june 2001)

Anyway, I have some thoughts on argyria. It's been reported that homemade colodial silver can contribute to this condition. I think I know why.

I believe amounts of ionic silver are resulting in homemade brews. Ionic silver is silver atoms with a missing electron. This seems all well and good, but it readily combines with the chloride that makes up salt and the acidic environment of the stomach (HCL). In a few seconds it turns into silver chloride. It's harmless enough, but I don't think it has the anti-biotic properties of collodial silver.

Anyway, Since silver chloride is a salt, I imagine the body deals with it differently. I believe that it may congeal together to form a soft crystal. I've verified this by adding a bit of salt to some collodial silver I got at the health food store and watching wispy clouds form from the salt.

Anyway, Silver chloride is photosensitive, in fact it's important in photography, as are a number of silver salts. When it is exposed to light, it breaks down into silver and salt again.

If silver chloride were to collect in the skin, you could see how this could be a problem, unless you lived in a cave

Argyria is pretty rare, as far as I know, and collodial / Ionic silver seems pretty popular now, so it could just be the way some peoples metabolisims are wired.

In addition, my sister is a nurse, and she said that they had collodial silver (cs) in the hospital, but she has never administered it personaly

Maybe someone should do studies on rats or lawyers or something. I know pharmecuticals won't research a cure for the cold, since they make so much money selling drugs to surpress the symptoms, I don't imagine they will pursue anything that can't be patented.

I have been using Collodial Silver since 1997 and SWEAR by its benefits given to me! I make my own out of nothing else but SEA SALT, DISTILLED H2O AND PURE .9999 SILVER. Note the extra "9" for use. 7 years has made me proficient, NEVER an expert with this "silver", how we use it to work. I have done my own "do you want to get better" usage on a friend with AIDS-yes, that's the one all are afraid of type syndrome, his WAS (Silver corrected the disease) his problem..No longer, how about that!!! Guess what folks??? New (1993) and I have cured CANCER, THE # 1 cause of death!!! Know what that means???--Cure for you and me when we get that "disease" everyone else got. not me or you, so we'll ignore it that's the easy way.

Hello, I'm so happy with the collodial silver.I had to use a lot of anti- biotica . I'm 64 and I make my CS at home. Now I'm searching for the collodial gold. Can you send me the urls from CG??? I like to make it my-self. I've told it to the doctor ,but he said he did not know how it works. My homeopatic docter had also a patient who uses the CS. That's all what he said. I'm really happy I can find a lot of testimonials on the Internet.

Greetings from The Netherlands, Trudy
