Genealogy: Make Copies of Old B&W Photographs (Misc.)

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Countryside : One Thread

A tip recently learned. If you want to have copies made of old B&W photographs, take them to a print shop with a color copier and have them made off of it. Cost will be about four times higher, but the copies will be of far higher quality.

Some photo/camera shops can also copy them onto photographic paper. so they look like real photos, and the quality is great.

I used to take all my pictures to be copied to the photo section of Walmart or Kmart but I needed a picture, of a my son, in a hurry and ended up at our local "Mail Box Ect." type store. I asked about a color copy and they did it!!!For one dollar for an 8" x 10"! It was as clear and the color was as good as the org. The paper is not as thick at but in a frame you could not tell which was which. Now I take all my photos color or black and white and ask them to copy it on the digital copier.. If they are small pictures I tape several to a sheet of copy paper and I have had up to 8 pictures (wallet size) copied for $1.00!!! Try it and let me know what you think.
