Let me get this straight. Some dude, a scientist dude that probably makes some fairly nice jack, big fat college degree and all that, has come up with this grande idea to MOVE THE FREAKIN' PLANET in order to cool it off a little??!!

I find it hard to believe that The Onion is not behind this......

I've stated my idea here before, I'll do it again.

I propose to launch a giant umbrella into orbit. When this giant umbrella is unfurled it will block the sun's rays from reaching the Earth, thereby reducing global warming. When the temp is reduced to an acceptable level, the umbrella will be closed again and await the next warming crisis, ready to open again and save the Earth once more at a moment's notice.
