RAISING REDWORMS (FOR PROFIT)

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Countryside : One Thread

Has any one raised red worms for profit? I was just wondering if it would make a second income, or if there is a market for them.

If you can find an outlet for bait sales such as a gas station frequented by fishermen, try approaching the owner as to supplying his needs. The castings have resale value also, however finding customers for small quantities can be tricky. Most nursuries will want bulk price deals for 100 pound orders and larger. Do a search on Copernic of worm castings and you should find about 50 sites that sell them to compare pricings. Also, look in the older thread archive here under vermiculture. Many of us have posted threads on this subject that may be of help to you.

I notice you use webtv and Copernic may not be accessable as it requires download. I'll run a search and post you some sites.
