"brussel sprouts" & "Jersey milk cheese" info appreciated

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Countryside : One Thread

I received many answers to my two questions: one about how to raise brussel sprouts, and one about making cheese from Jersey milk. I appreciate every one. Thank you very much.

Just wanted to let you all know I harvested enough brussel sprouts to serve as a side dish to my family of eight, and I think everyone liked them. I didn't hear any complaints. They were VERY good, even though not as big as the ones I've seen in the store. They were not bitter at all, and since I was out of butter, we just salted them. The smell was no more offensive than cooking broccoli or cabbage.

This is a very odd year. Even though it is 95 to 100 degrees nearly every afternoon, I still have broccoli, cabbage, and these brussel sprouts doing well. I've only seen two cabbage loopers.

I'm anxious to get into making cheese with my Jersey milk!!

Thanks again to all.
