Hi all, just found this board... great to see such interesting discussions going on about these monumental works! Anyway on to the question - I have a friend who said that the name of the state, country, whatever, "Monica" was actually named after a friend of Peter's while he was studying. Or something along those lines. Well I always thought that it was a neat story, and was hoping to get some validation on my friend's claims. Gah, I'm such a nerd.

I've never heard that theory before, but it sounds interesting. I'd actually be more interested to know where "Bregna" and "Breen" came from. I heard a theory once that it's based on the name of an area near the Bearing Strait...

My name is from a Italian. origin. It comes from the word Monicia in Italian. My name is comonly used in Czech Republic. Monica means "advice,advisor". I do give advice to my friends once in a while. Apparently, my name is also used in Portugese and Greek. Thanks!!!!
