Study Says Four Web-sites Account for Half of Web Surfing

The big four are America Online, Yahoo!, Microsoft and Napster.

Personally, I usually use Google instead of Yahoo, only go to Microsoft when I need technical information, and never use AOL or Napster.

Well, not exactly 4 websites, but 4 companies who's websites account for 50% of minutes spent on-line. This is kind of worrisome though, if they get together and decide to start controlling or charging for the data, we will be in for the same kind of problems California is in with the power industry. You are correct Cherri. The CNN headline was misleading (who'd a thunk it!?) Indeed, 4 companies account for 50% of online minutes, but AOL's minutes include instant messaging and email. Still interesting though.
