I went out to the garden last night and picked 3 ears of corn and on each cob only half the corn was developed what did I do rong.Lisa

You may have picked it too early. Was the silk that grows out of the top of the ear dry. I usually check mine everyday and the first day the silk is dry all the way as it enters into the ear, thats when I pick it.

Half developed ears can also mean insufficient pollenization, too. Be sure to plant corn in blocks of several rows, not long rows by themselves. Lots of pollen needed to get every silk .
