TP (toilet paper) joke (clean)

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Countryside : One Thread

Back when everything was ordered out of the Sears and Roebuck catalog an old farmer called up to order some toilet paper. The lady taking the order said she'd be happy to send him some toilet paper but she needed the catalog number. He said "Well if'n I still had the catalog I wouldn't be a needin to order no toilet paper!"

Good Lord Amanda! You must be a young pup (puppess?). That was getting a bit long in the tooth 50 years ago, when people actually still ordered from the catalog. There's another from the same era. Farmer comes into local feed store. "How much for that chicken waterer you got there?". "One dollar and nine cents, plus 3 cents tax" is the reply. "Hell, I can get that for 89 cents from Sears, Roebuck, and the shipping is only ten cents, and there's no tax! Why should I pay you so much?" says the farmer. "Well, we don't want any dissatisfied folks." says the storekeeper. "I'll sell it to you for the same price." Feeling like he has struck a good deal, the farmer says "Well then, I'll take it!" So the storekeeper takes the money, then places the waterer back on the shelf. "Hey" says the farmer "I want to take it with me now." "Sorry" says the shopkeeper, "You've got to accept the shipping time"! Moral: Consider ALL the angles! GL!
