Can a bantam female and a regular sized rooster mate?

Answers

Yes. At least until there are smaller more active sparrow-sized roosters around to out-pace the proper-sized bird.

Oh goodness yes! Our Rhode Island red rooster has topped our golden bantams regularly since be became a "man". Our little bantam rooster does a good job at keeping him away but he can't be everywhere. We have 5 nice RI red hens for him but he seems to prefer the "blonde" bantams. The bantams are producing a cross between the red and gold, very pretty medium size chicks. Good luck!

I have several types of bantam hens & some silkie hens & a game rooster----we have cute chicks and all have feathers on their legs!! Some look like silkies & some look like game hens with feathers on their legs!!

I've got some new chicks that my 'kids' hatched last week. The rooster's are Standard OEG and the hens are Bantam Cochins. Cute little buggers!

Yes they can mate. But I personally do not let it happen anymore. My polish Bantam was being harassed by my plymouth rock. And I fould that he was way to aggressive and actually hurt her. I didnt realize how bad until it was to late. So i no longer let the larger rooster around my Bantams. Actually I fine the Plymouth Rock to be way to aggressive birds anyway. So we had chickens soup recently!!
