My dad started growing kohlrabi in his gardens when I was about 10, so that's going on almost 30 years (give or take a few). We usually ate it raw, while we were growing up. I have grown it in my own garden ever since I've had one. I put it in anything that takes other vegetables. Stir fry, fried rice, stews, soups, it can be mashed, creamed, boiled, and used in veggie trays. While I have never been a big fan of greens, we usually find a neighbor who GLADLY takes the tops off our hands. They store pretty well if you leave the root on them and keep them in a cool place--like any root crop. Your best bet is just to try different things, letting your family know your experiementing, and find out what they do and don't like-- at least that's what works best for me. Good luck!

I first started with it when I was a young pup over 40 years ago. One of my favorites, and easy to grow. Good raw, good cooked (steamed), and great as a mixed vegetable. To the unitiated, it is hard to describe, but my best attempt would be a cross between cabbage and cauliflower. Try it! GL!
