the maximum Electromagnetc field of resistance welding for no problem of human body

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Resistance Welding : One Thread

There is a very high current in second side of resistance welding. And it makes a strong electromagnetic field which is dangerous for man body. What is maximum acceptable of magnetic field without any problem for man body.? How I can calculate it? Can you recomand me a reference book and may be a technical site for these subject? Thanks a lot and best regards. Jamal Hamedfar Tehran Iran

This subject has been discussed and reaserched over the past 10 - 15 years with no conclusive evidence that the magnetic feilds created by resistance welding equipment or any other electrical apperatus can cause harm to the human body. Several extensive university research teams have done some long term studies, one such study was in Time magazine in the mid-nineties. One of the interesting ongoing debates is time vs magnitude. RW equipment does have very high magnitude but very short times, conversly a electric blanket has less magnitude but one is exposed for a much longer time. I don't think you are going to get a good answer to this question.

Discover Magazine showed a frog that was levitated by a very high magnetic field, and suffered no ill effects. They stated the magnetic field was 100,000 times that of the Earth's magnetic field. By the way, talk about long-time exposure, how about that field? Anyway, people seem to be unaffected by the field in a MRI machine, and I am told by medical personnel that the magnetic field will rip the gun from the holster of an attending security guard assigned to the patient in the MRI machine.
