Dutch Windmills in Golden Gate Park

greenspun.com : LUSENET : San Francisco History : One Thread

I heard from someone that the Dutch Windmill in Golden Gate Park had some interesting myths to it, and about it being cursed. I don't know the myths, but I was wondering if anyone else did. It would be great if someone could respond, I'm very curious as I live very near it. Thanks.

Dave (without a "t"), The person likely to know is Richard Hansen who was of active assistance with the team that rebuilt the windmill. You can reach him through Gladys Hansen of the Museum of the City of San Francisco.

Let me know what you are finding, please, as I am planning to create a walk for the NPS on Ocean Beach for later this year; the two windmills will be included.

It's not the Dutch Windmill but here's a cool picture from an old Charlie Chaplin movie of the Murphy Windmill -- back when it was still in operation! The Dutch Windmill appeared in the first "Tales of the City" movie.
