Does anyone remember the Fleischaker family of San Francisco? They had a pool out by the Zoo. In addition, they bred Labrador Retrievers specifically for hunting. These dogs were larger than other Labs.

I just wanted a hint where I could do more research.

Fleischhacker (notice the double"HH") is a famous San Franciusco name associated with banking and philanthropy. Any history of San Francisco touching on the 1920s and beyond has some reference to Flischhacker-- usually Mortimer.
