With a fuel tank, how many miles can you travel (at a normal pace) before your fuel light comes on?

I've gone 150 miles and have yet to see the fuel light come on.

I was happily surprised when my fuel light came on, due to the reported problems. Although there were only @100 mi. on my trip meter. My guess is that non working fuel lights are also isolated incidents.

In regards to the no fuel light problem, is the fuel light sensor just not connected to the tank?
