We have a tree at our place we haven't figured out yet. Toss out any ideas you have, please. :-)

Growth pattern is very similar to hackberry, but a little longer in the leaf. A few weeks ago this tree began dropping these little yellow/cream colored "bells" about 1/4" high, but only heavy for a few days. I think the bells were blooms or seeds pods. They made little tapping sounds as they hit the grass. The bark was thickly ridged, more so than the hackberry tree's we have. Any thoughts?

Sounds like you might have an American persimmon.
