scratching my head for some lively subject line, how about citing who Aeons cultural and historical precursors would be. I mean, for example, Joan of Arc would be a natural plus that would tie neatly in with an old thread which preposterously suggested Milla Jovovich play Aeon in a live action adaptation....

I don't know about that... Aeon has completely different motivations. Besides being a famous female warrior, there's no connection.

Joan was mostly a figurehead. As an actual warrior or military leader she was very ineffective. As far as Milla Jovovovovovovich goes, she's too short and her cup size is about four sizes too small.

I did'nt think body type really came into this? From what I understand Joan of Arc was a leader and Aeon is autonomous, I really can't think of any precedent

Well both Joan and Aeon inspire the hearts of people. Both had to fight men of power, really the only difference is that Aeon wears leather and drives a car, whilest the great Joan of Arc wore Mail and road a horse.

I feel that Aeon has no relation to Joan of Arc, because Joan of course had a passion and was willing to die for that passion, and Flux has no passion. Flux only kills whom ever gets in her way, there is no real war. Besides, I do not agree wi th Joan of Arc's views and would be very embarassed for whom ever associates Aeon with Joan of Arc.

I was in no way suggesting that aeon and joan were interchangable as reprasentative icons, what I was suggesting is the conjecture of a cultural evolutionary chain that arrives somewhere in the recent past at aeon flux. my suggestion of joan of arc was justified, in my mind, by the strength of conviction that propelled joan to attain her self imposed levels of personal glory. she was on a personal religious mission. that is not to say that she is, by divine right, 'good' only that she was a driven, uncompromising female cultural milestone. in the vein of my original question you could also cite modesty blaise as another link in this cultural chain. by suggesting joan of arc I wasnt solely inviting accumulated derision, which comprises the stock of replies, but rather to provoke thought into where aeon comes from as a sociological entity. all answers so far have told me that Im wrong without suggesting what is right, I was hoping for a less negative reception

I'm sorry, I see your point Shteeve. I suppose I was looking at it from a moral perspective (Aeon deciding her own morals, vs. Joan pulling her morals from God), but in the sense you mention now, I see the connections very clearly. And of course, despite all of Aeon's anarchy, she is nevertheless out to push her own "morality" upon others... even no-doctrine is a doctrine in itself.

No thats why we're here because basically she's one of a kind. I mean sh'e got some generalizations in her, like the domination gear, and a few S&M tendancies but all in all she is all original, or of course based on something I don't know.

I have reconsidered. Wonder Woman isn't such a bad role model after all. Consider: both have a skimpy costume with high heel boots and W.W. had a rope (the Lasso of Contrition or Chastisement or something...) which ties in perferctly with Aeons S&M garb.

LOL. you know people forget the "Breast Plate" cause she was just a drawing, but she was much more to me(cause I'm sad). Also that Xena character had some interesting upper body armour. Again I remeber cause I'm sad.

you know Aeon does at times really take on the role of hero. she really is willing to put others above her at different times. I think of Cybil, "...fine to play with my feelings...", as though hers(feelings) are less important.

I've been trying to figure out which Cybil you are referring to: the TV charactar or someone from a greek play. If it's the former I don't see the connection, if it's the latter, I still don't see the connection since I have never read any ancient literature. Anyway I think Wonder Woman is wearing something called a bustier. Xena's item of equipment is called a cuiras or corselet. And cheer up for gods sake, the world won't end for a while yet.

WonderWoman DID wear a breastplate (but to be fair it had the same SHAPE as a bustier) Go to www.ereplicas.com and click on the breastplates link for examples. I could probably tell you some other sites to find bustiers, but I'm pretty sure all interested parties could find them on their own :)
