Problems With 430EZ

Went out shooting tonight With 430EZ and Nimh 1300 Batterys Ran them dead at less than 2 roll of Film.

Thoguht that was odd brought it home put new set of Nimh Fresh charge in and after 10 pops recharge time was over 1Min 30Secs so Idecided to try a new set of duracells to make sure it wasnt my new Nimh batterys after 10 pops With them same deal long recharge time.

Any Ideals besides Replace Flash i thought Maybe the cap but Cap's only dischage to earth groud usually and it hasnt zapped me Any one ever had this problem?

I have the same unit. The batteries last forever. I think your discharge capacitor is beginning to fail. When the material in the cap. starts to break down the voltage will leak to ground shortening the battery life immensely. I think that's what's happening to you. The unit is a good one, I'd look into getting it fixed, it could be cheaper than you think!

Thats what i thought to ive replaced a lot of Caps in other stuff just wanted someone else opinion Ive never seen flash kill batterys so fast and its been getting worse Now the question is can i get the Cap from Canon..Maybe ill get that Metz or 550ex yet :)
