Hongry? Try this from the Kitchen of ole Hoot! It's fit to eat.

4 # ground beef or pork.

2 chopped onions, pk of crackers, can of mater sauce, 2 eggs, salt, pepper, garlic powder. After mixing-- lay out in pan. Add sliced onions on top and then cover with ketchup. Bake at 400 F for 1 hour. Drain grease off during cooking. Measurements don't have to be exact---just as in horshoes- close is good enough.

Jesus Christ will be here shortly. If you're ready to meet Him---tell others about Him. Matt.24:44

Hi Hoot, I"m new to the computor, and the foram, You fascinate me with your postings. I"m 71 years old and a Christian. By the way thats just plain old meat loaf with onions on top. I do it all the time without the onions, will try it your way the next time. Hal Lindsey on TBN on thursday night, says this thing that is going on in Israel right now could be the start of Ezekiel"s prohecy, ch. 38 and 39. What do you think. God Bless Irene

Hi Irene! Welcome to the forum. I agree on both your points. I don't like meatloaf with bunches of other thingys' in it that I dont know what they are. Ground pork [not sausage] is good to use. Don't know about ground turkey but imagine it'd be ok too.

Hal Lindsey, I believe, is right about these last days and am certain we are definately in the last days before the return of Jesus Christ. Matthew. 24:44

Hoot, sounds good to me! Might just whip some up for dinner on Sunday. Is there anything you don't do? Lil dumplin is a lucky gal to have ya, that's for sure! Jan

My husband loves meatloaf, but it's one of the things I most hated to cook. I discovered spagetti meatloaf and we all like it. I just mix a big jar of chunky spagetti sauce into ground beef and bake. Add some mashed potatos and we're all set.

I don't post much here, but want to tell you, Hoot, that I appreciate your posts. It's kinda like reading a note from Granpa. Hope you aren't offended as I don't know your age. It's the warmth of the message I refer to. Thanks.

Mona, Ol' Hoot likes to pretend that he is an old guy, but the truth is he's a young man and good looking to boot! ;)

Hoot made the meatloaf for a Mother's Day Birthday carry-in for our mom's 88th. birthday at the Noble park. Pretty good stuff! If you can handle the sugar, I like to mix brown sugar with the catsup that goes on the top. I think the more onions the better, but am married to a guy that can't stand onions and 44 years has not changed his mind! Hoot's sis ruth in s.e.Illinois
