Does anyone know if the tripod mount ring for the EF 200mm 2.8L II fits the old version of the lens? Thanks.

I think the only difference between the "new" and "old" versions of the 200/2.8L is the design of the lens hood. As far as I know the same tripod mount fits both of them but I can't be 100% sure as I don't own the lens. I believe the same mount fits the 80-200/2.8L, and the mount on the 300/4L (not IS) is identical in size, but is white not black. The 70-200/4L also takes the same tripod mount.

I know for sure that the 80-200/2.8L, 300/4L (non IS) and 70-200/4L all take the same size tripod mount since I've interchanged the mounts on all three. I think the black mount for the 80-200 is cheaper than the white mount for the 300/4L for some reason. Expect to pay around $80 for the black version, $115 for the white.
