Wundt, Titchener & Physiology

Hi All, Could someone possibly refer me to an extensive technical discussion on Wundt's "chemical" model, as it contrasts with Titchener's "structuralism"? Stefan.

Ortega y Gasset gives a good summary of Wundt's psychology with no mention of Titchener's in "Psychological Investigations" (available at Robards); a good comparison/contrast of the two is in Danziger's work on "the positivist repudiation of Wundt," (1979) Journal of the History of the Behavioral Sciences. Sorry for the imprecise citations, but I'm writing from memory.

You might have a look at:

Titichener, E.B. (1921). Brentano and Wundt: Empirical and experimental psychology. American Journal of Psychology, 32, 108-120, esp. p. 116 f. (which you can find on-line at http://psychclassics.yorku.ca/Titchener/brentano-wundt.htm).
