DIY: Contact printing frame

greenspun.com : LUSENET : B&W Photo - Printing & Finishing : One Thread

Till now, I've made my contact prints by putting the negatives under a sheet of glass. But, this method is rather time consuming and I was wondering whether someone knows how to construct a contact printing frame, with the purpose to standardize my catalog of contact prints and wasting less time. Thank for any suggestions.

Why not contact Great Basin photo & get one of their already made contact printing frames. They are not cheap, but inexpensive considering you will probably be giving them to your great grandchildren to use since they are made so well.

Marc, if you are using clear plastic sheets to store your negatives, just leave the negatives in the sheet, put glass on top to make it lay flat and expose. I use the Print File brand of sheets and see little if any degrading of my contact prints.
