where can i get the instuction manual for Cannon EOS Elan2 on the net?

Canon has them copyrighted so you can only get new ones from them, and so far they made them available on the net. Nor do they permit others to do so. Used ones sell all the time on www.ebay.com

Just call Canon 1800OKCANON and order it. I got one for an older camera--it was $7. Or you could buy one on eBay.

I really think Canon should have the guides available for download on the net. For example, here in Germany the manual is ONLY in German in the package, but about 10 million people living here do not speak it as a first language. At least English language should be available for download. What would be even better, there should be a short guide on paper in the package and a CD-rom including the manual in multiple languages. I think Canon printers are delivered in this manner. And Olympus digital cameras as well, at least my Olympus E- 10. My EOS sadly has only a instructions in German. What a shame.
