Just make sure it's somethin' you'll be able to live with and like and/ or make sure you put it somewhere discreet. You do know we want to know what tat you choose : )

Was taught that sharing is good and that bein' stingy will get you nowhere.

It looks as though yaw'll are havin' a great time,at least judgin' by your posts.

'Sumer: Here's my advice, FWIW. 1) Make sure you're sober first. Don't do this while "buzzed." 2) Check out all the designs the tattoo parlor has to offer and think about where you want it. I remember once having a fantasy of a small butterfly tattoo being placed right around my ankle bone. I'd seen a young woman at work with one and thought it was attractive. The tatooist said that the ankle area not only hurts a LOT, but that the tattoo would fade quickly from rubbing on things in that area. I threw the idea away upon hearing all that.

Tattoo? ‘Earmarking’ would be more appropriate.

“Make sure you're sober first”

Oh sure, that might happen…NOT.

There are lots of cool washable tattoos available at the beach stores. We bought about a dozen while we were there and had a GREAT time applying them to each other! If you find one design that you really like, you can always have a tatoo artist put it on for real at a later time.

What kb8 said.

Sumer - you should check into the Japanese Henna(sp?) tattoos. They'll stay on for about a month.

Once you get that dragon tattoed on your neck and throat, it's too late.....;-)

Sumer….you should check into the nearest long-term care mental facility.

Anita, thanks that was where I was planning. A lil rose w/hubby's name, but I would NEVER do it buzzed. I've given it alot of thought for over 8 years.

Hmmm, will pick another spot. Thanks guys/gals.

How bout’ tattooing the phone number of your next of kin on your fat ass so they know who to call when you are found face down in the street, in your own vomit. That is where you are headed….sounds great huh?

This tickled me, Deano. I remember when one daughter considered getting a tattoo of a spider in a web on her upper back. Duh! She was 18 at the time. I don't know if my words meant anything to her, but I said, "Honey, there just may come a time when you're 26 or so and desire to wear a backless dress to a formal affair. How might you feel, then, about this spider in a web that you got when you were 18?" I know she has a little butterfly tattoo above one breast. It can be seen if she wears a tank top, but only partially, even then.

My second daughter DESIGNED her own tattoo...an elaborate butterfly [Okay...my family seems to be into butterflies]. This one is much bigger...maybe three or four inches high and wide. It's on the SMALL of her back. Her father caught sight of it one day and swore he'd hunt down the tattooist and have it removed. SHE still loves it, after several years. I got a close view of it on her recent visit and said, "Did that hurt?" She said, "Oh, yeah." It really is pretty, though and she can choose to show it by wearing a short top and low-rider jeans, or hide it.

LOL Anita

I was definitely speaking from real life experience. My daughter about went crazy when her mom and I refused to let her get one like that, a huge dragon tattoo, on her neck (it was about the only thing we ever agreed on!). We're talking HUGE tattoo! Daughter eventually gave up the fight but I did let her experiment with the Japanese Henna art thing while in Key West last summer. MUCH BETTER alternative ig your 'thinking' about getting one.
