What was MTV thinking....

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Aeon Flux : One Thread

Can someone explain why mtv didn't continue to air Aeon Flux episodes? Also why aren't the other episodes on dvd yet! Peter we need you to tell these people what's up! Let me know if someway we can help to bring her back because I know Aeon isn't dead, she's a clone hiding somewhere :) (I think Aeon could die 100 times and good ol' Trevor could bring her back, that is of course untill he killed her..) Thanks for the great work you've done Peter, it's inspiring and I hope someday we can get her back :) Till then best of luck.

Fret not, young one. There's a new project in the works.

Frosty the snow chick....whaddyaknow??? Start talkin' or we disassemble your eyes of coal...(how's that for violence)!

The explanation is, and I have made this point before, Aeon Flux requires an audience with an attention span longer than three seconds. MTV doesn't seem to be able to find dancers who can keep in step longer than that, so what do you suppose their target audience is like?

I don't know anymore than you do. Just that Peter's working on an animated film.

It may amount to nothing, and probably will, but I have sent only about 10 letters to MTV asking when are they going to put Aeon Flux back on, when are they going to make new Aeon Flux eps,...etc, and the other day I got a letter back from them saying they are considering my letter. :)

As a loyal Aeon Flux Fan...who am I kidding, as an AeonFlux Addict I am in real desperate need of a new fix. Write MTV at this address and maybe we can get our beloved Aeon back in the beautiful celluloid movements that made her live and breath:

May the Flux be with us!!!

Maybe they had to take it off the air for the good of the world, people didn't work after they saw it. They just sat back and lapped up the Flux. So out of social conscience they had to take it off air before the global economic/industrial power structure would grind to halt.

I'll help by linking the e-amil address. Now my brothers and sisters explode onto mtv with complaints, pleadings, whinings, ranting, raving and general lamentings of them taking this off the air!

Or even a simple conservative request will do.

Sounds like a plan to me thanks for your help and desire to return Aeon Flux to the airwaves. I think the show was a little ahead of it's time and really was cut short. This might also help get new episodes in the works! Who knows, the sky's the limits right! Help us out P.C. :) Wouldn't you enjoy watching Aeon air again ? I know I would, even if I knew the episodes. :)

MTV wrote me back and said "We do not have any plans to bring back Aeon Flux at this time"...do you think if we occasionally or perpetually ask they will HAVE plans? Wonder how these things get decided upon, you know with Laura Croft out running around in the theatres it might behoove them to try and cash in on the scene. I swear the 'M' in 'MTV' stands for Moola.

While reading the new SpotlightAwn animation newsletter I ran across this litte piece of info: "Flyboy seeks writer for series being pitched to MTV", (yeah I know it's not what we all hope for but thought you guys might find it interesting). Also, as far as animation goes there is this amazing software available online; check out www.toonboom.com, they sell to WildBrain, Virtual Magic, Stan Lee and others, they allow anyone to submit their stuff for review. Good opportunity for newcommers.

In my letter to MTV addict I mentioned that I'd buy T-shirts if they made 'em. Hows that for moola
