Doreen, Are you in Giddings, TX? ( I saw that you mentioned Giddings on an earlier post). My great-grandmother's family is from Giddings. The (maiden) last name is Teinert, and I have been told that I have a lot of relatives there, but I'm reluctant to start calling/contacting people I've never met. However, all of my other relatives on my Mom's side are deceased (early)so I'm curious as to whether there are many people wiht this family name in your area. I would love to find out about my family's history from the source(s) but I'm kind of a chicken, I guess. Anyway, have you met any Teinerts out in your neck of the woods? : ) ( this was a long way of saying I'm just curious!) Thanks in advance,

Doreen, Thanks for the offer of phone, and for confirming their existence : ) I don't think I'm quite ready to call anyone- it might stir things up, and I'm not sure I want to do that. But it's good to know that they're there once I decide to contact them. You know, one of these days when the kids,husband, chickens,dogs, garden, canning, cleaning, cooking, and other assorted stuff are taken care and I have some free time *grin*

Hi! We all get curious at times. Just to add to your information folder, My father Walter A. Teinert was born in Giddings, Tx Aug 11, 1900. He Later moved to Vernon, Tx Married and raised four children, Walter A Jr. Peggy, Fred L and Roy F. Do not know of any living relatives still in the Texas area. Regards Fred Teinert
